And They Lived…

Not happily ever after. Not Terribly either. It was somewhere in the mundane middle that seemed to take up most of our lives; the mundane of waking up every morning, working an eight-hour shift, coming home to eat dinner, and getting ready for the next day.

Although she has to admit, there is a level of comfort that comes with knowing she will go to sleep in the arms of the man she loves, day after day for the rest of her life. For some people, this might trigger a panic attack, but for someone as grounded as she is, in a world that is constantly changing, this gives her an immense amount of peace of mind.

Not only that, every day that goes by, she finds her love for him only growing. If there is a limit to how much a person can love another, she hasn’t found it yet.

That is not to say everything is perfect for them. They are both stubborn people who think they are right about most things. She had to learn to put aside her pride, stop being petty, and let things go every once in a while.

She’s been taking in as much advice as she can, and the one that struck her the most is that she needs to make time for her passions and hobbies. She listened as this older woman talks about what it was like for her at first.

He would go hunting for weeks at a time and leave her alone. On the first few hunting trips he took, she would sit in their big empty house and cry. Then one day, something in her clicked. She decided she was done being sad because of him. She got all made up and went to the movies by herself. And she started to find other bobbies she could do by herself while he was away for so long. She stressed that one must have a life outside of them, or their lives together will have more challenges than expected.

And so they lived. With some lows, some highs, and a whole lot of learning.
