Jen's Journal

Just a 26 year old lady.

Girls

She looked at her from across the bar and Ali felt herself blush. She had long dark hair and sharp features. She wasn’t just beautiful, she moved with such grace and mesmerizing poise.

She sits with her head against the wall and her knees up to support the hardcover book she’s reading. Her eyes follow the words across the page as if it is the only thing in the world that matters.

She twiddles with the ring on her finger, unable to look up as she gives the presentation she was rehearsing all night. No matter how ready she thinks she is, her mind always goes blank as she stares out at the crowd.

She goes through the stories of girls she wishes she could talk to. It has never been easy for her; when she attempts flirtation they often mistake it for friendship.

She is the quiet one in the group. She is a born leader who doesn’t know it yet. She is the one who’s gone through hell and back and still finds the courage to smile every day.

To all the girls I never had the guts to talk to, I’m Sorry.

About Me

Hi there! I’m thrilled to have you join me on my blog. I write fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between.

In my free time, I like to keep busy with a variety of hobbies. I’m an avid reader and writer, I love to knit, crochet, and embroider.

At the end of the day, though, my main priority is spending time with my loved ones. Whether it’s traveling or just spending quality time together, I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by those I care about.
