She had missed the last train and there was only one person she wanted to talk to at that moment. Evelin reached into her pockets and pulled out her phone. With one hand clutching the phone to her ear, and the other holding onto a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, Evelin dialed his number.  “Hello?” Jason… Continue reading

  • Fight for Me

“Do you see the way he looked at her? Honey he used to look at the ground when she came in the room. Now he can’t take his eyes off her, and did you see the way he blushed when she talked to him?”  I did notice but I wasn’t going to tell Lauren, the… Continue reading

    Fear of Happy

What if the guy you saw walking down the street pulled out his gun and robbed you when you passed him on the sidewalk?  What if the man shouting by the train station trash can start yelling and coming after you? What if your ulcerative colitis turns into colon cancer because you’re not taking care… Continue reading

Everything About Her Was A Lie

The first time she smiled up at you with her hair between her fingers and her eyes blinking slowly. The way she held your hand as you shared your most intimate secrets with her. How she met your firends and claimed she loved them. The way she laughed at your slightly racist jokes. How she… Continue reading

    No Warning

He took her items out of his backpack, making sure they were all still there: a copy of The Paris Wife by Paula Mclain, a ticket of The Neighbourhood concert, five heart-shaped bookmarks. He found those everywhere, this is probably not the last of them. Finally, there was a small purple notebook. Gertrude never went… Continue reading

    I Will Always Love You

Samuel woke up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. He reached over and felt the space next to him. Ava must have woken up early to make coffee; a smile spread across his aging face. He threw a bathrobe on and walked over to the kitchen, expecting to find his wife but finding a… Continue reading

He watched, helpless, as the door closed behind her. He stood there a long moment, processing, hoping she would change her mind and open the door to him again. But nothing happened. As he walked down the hallway, all he could do was replay the scene from moments ago.  “I need you to leave,” Paige… Continue reading

There Was Sadness In Her Eyes

There was sadness in her eyes as she told him he looked so much like his father. It was her brother, after all. Half, she reassured herself. Not from the same womb, just the same seed. “Really? I always wondered how he looked. I’ve never even seen a picture of him.” As he said this, Eva… Continue reading

    Goodbyes

I always think it will be easier the next time I say goodbye to one of my toddlers. I tell myself that they won’t even remember this time in their life. I tell myself that no one can compare to the first kid who made me their work mom. But the truth is it never… Continue reading

About Me

Hi there! I’m thrilled to have you join me on my blog. I write fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between.

In my free time, I like to keep busy with a variety of hobbies. I’m an avid reader and writer, I love to knit, crochet, and embroider.

At the end of the day, though, my main priority is spending time with my loved ones. Whether it’s traveling or just spending quality time together, I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by those I care about.
