    Burnt-Out

My legs feel like Jell-O and the day hasn’t even begun. Need caffeine just to stay awake, but the jitters make me nauseous. And nausea gives me a headache. And the headache makes me dizzy. Dehydration.                      Disorientation.                      … Continue reading

    To My Love

I cling to our memories with quiet desperation when I think about leaving. My mother once said you can love a man your whole life and still not know everything about him. I’ve known you twenty-three years, and still, I have not seen all of you. You with your colorful seasons and vast mountains. Like… Continue reading

    Jealousy

She drinks one, then two, then so many that there are holes in her memory. One minute, she’s looking at him talking and laughing to a beautiful blonde. The next she’s on the balcony getting a call from him.  It’s too loud for either of them to hear each other. She is screaming into the… Continue reading

    Late Night

Jane took her time getting ready for bed. She took an extra minute brushing her teeth, flossing, washing her face. She even made herself a cup of tea with a spoonful of honey. As she waited for the tea to cool down, her mind wandered. Tonight, was day one of John’s boxing night. When he… Continue reading

    Sick of Faking Diary Entries

This is a lyric from Dodie, an artist I’ve been into for a while. It made me think of how I sometimes bullshit diary entries to fill up pages, to take up space in a journal that I didn’t buy, with a pen that I stole, on a table with a cover that looks like… Continue reading

    Can’t Sleep

There’s a buzzing in my ears tonight. My feet are on the edge of the bed. My back is turned to the one I love. I’m annoyed, but not at them. It annoys me how much small things get to me. Why does keeping things inside feel like my chest is on fire? I wish… Continue reading

Twenty-three is your skin changing and breaking out like you’re a teenager all over again. It’s your knees hurting when it’s cold outside. It’s finally figuring out that you don’t have to wash your hair every day. Twenty-three is missing your partner the minute they aren’t by your side, but also finding passions and hobbies… Continue reading

    Update

I think I found what I’m passionate about. For the moment, it’s teaching. Teaching one-year-olds, but still teaching. I think about ways to decorate my classroom more than I think about picking up a pen. I think about lesson planning and all the arts and crafts they can do. Watching them grow and learn warms… Continue reading

    National Beer Day

Over the last two years or so I’ve learned to appreciate beer in a way I never thought I would. If I’m being honest I thought beer tasted the way piss smells. But that’s just Budlight, Budweiser, pretty much all cheap beer smells and tastes shitty. Breweries and Pubs certainly changed my mind about beer.… Continue reading

About Me

Hi there! I’m thrilled to have you join me on my blog. I write fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between.

In my free time, I like to keep busy with a variety of hobbies. I’m an avid reader and writer, I love to knit, crochet, and embroider.

At the end of the day, though, my main priority is spending time with my loved ones. Whether it’s traveling or just spending quality time together, I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by those I care about.
